The foundation of “The Hope” society was laid on 31st august 2004-2005 for the purpose to serve the community and helping it to develop globally for better and brighter future. THE HOPE stands for sustainable wholistic transformation of the poor, and marginalized for a just society and in continuation of its commitment THE HOPE stands against the evil practices of Female Foeticide and Infanticide prevailing in the regions of North India .i.e. higher in degree as compare to other states of India, increasing the gaps in sex ratio of male and female.
Goal:
To ignite the Movement against the social evil of Female Foeticide and Infanticide in Chandigarh & Punjab.
Objective:
To abolish the social evil of female foeticide and infanticide in the city of Chandigarh(UT) and Punjab by the means of awareness and posing the women as non-detachable member of society.
Scenario of Chandigarh and Punjab
The inhabitants of Punjab, who pioneered the green revolution in the last century, are now heading for a devastating economic and social fall out in the near future due to sharply declining (882 in 1991; 874 in 2001) sex ratio. The reasons of ‘son-mania’ are socio-cultural, economic and political ones . Among others, the predominant cause is the agrarian set-up associated with the ownership of land and the social infrastructure sustained by Punjabi’s that accords a low status to women, to continue the lineage of family through male child is must & still think female child as a consumer member of family but not production. Chandigarh, the City beautiful has the dubious distinction of having the lowest sex ratio (773) in whole of the country despite its high literacy rate of 81.76%(7). The worst affected districts of Punjab are Ludhiana (824), Fatehgarh Sahib (851) and Patiala (864). "Since Chandigarh shares its socio-cultural milieu with Punjab and Haryana, it reflects similar demographic trends,”. The middle class which has adopted the norm of small family and has access to both means and methods of keeping the family small is also to be blamed for the skewed sex ratio. UT can find solace in the fact that its child sex ratio (845) is higher than its overall sex ratio of 777. Recent Surveys has proved that this Social Evil is more prevalent among educated section of the society covering the urban cities of province.
The boards displayed in nursing homes that “Sex determination tests are not conducted here” is just a ploy to hoodwink the authorities. The reports of recovery of female fetuses from drains, garbage dumps, public lavatories etc. have created shock and public outrage in the state(6). Legal instruments like MTP Act, 1971 and PNDT Act, 1994 and their subsequent amendments could not check this menace. Governmental efforts through ad-campaigns, documentaries, workshops etc. have proved inadequate in this regard. The voluntary and non-governmental organizations too are still groping in the dark
POSSIBLE HAZARDS
It has been seen that populations with more number of males remain at risk of social unrest with increase in crime and violence against women like dowry death, child marriage, bride selling, kidnapping, rape etc. The risk of polyandry also exists in such a society
In order to abolish the evil practice and the sinful activity from the communities of Punjab and surrounding areas do stand with us in prayers as well as supporting partners to seek the wholistic development of society. The Hope is looking through different means to aware and teach people against the mentioned evil. The Hope is collaborated with local authorities and other NGO's to fight for the cause. So, this is our request to extend your helping hand to fulfill the God’s intention in creating women as part of man and to achieve the Goal No-3 of Millennium development Goals by UN.

Bloo dDonation Camp organized by THe Hope
Greets In Christ name !!!
Dear All Brother and sisters in Christ,
Let me again share with you the joy of the Lord that comes to our day to day life. The first thing i want to express is my gratitude to all of you for standing in the gap as prayer partners and supporters to us for a cause that the Lord has given to us to serve the community. Many of our loved ones who were not in communication, called and mailed us back. Thanks for the appreciation and the effort you made to encourage us.
The Reason for a quick update to all of you from our desk is to inform you and tell you that the Blood donation Camp organized by THE HOPE was a successful step to give something to the community as serving member of community. All went well and under the grace of God. The sad part was that the expected crowd from different churches did not turned up, may be people are scared to donate blood due to different rumors and negligence. We do understand them and encourage them to know the all positives of donating blood.
In appendix one more thing i want to share, some friends of mine say that you write very good and nice things about the ministry in the newsletters and seems their is no struggle. My dear friends we are still in very infant stage and yes we are struggling with many things but thanks for the God's grace that keeps us moving. Please keep on praying for us that these struggles never overcome our efforts and grace of Lord to carry on the Good work. Keep on encouraging us with your prayer and support.

Comfortable Christian
Christians are not supposed to comfortable. In fact, it's our comfort that is killing us. Many of us go to churches that have state-of-the-art audio/video equipment, professional musicians, elegant bookstores, and even latte machines. We drive up in our BMWs and SUVs and are upset if the twenty minute sermon runs two minutes late. If the church we are attending doesn't cater to our needs, we are quick to switch to another one with a better preschool class, a newer sanctuary, or a more seeker-friendly sermon where we don't have to open a Bible. It's not about Christ anymore; it's about comfort.
Ironically, there is nothing comfortable about being nailed to a cross. There is nothing comfortable about being beaten. There is nothing comfortable about denying yourself. The original twelve disciples followed Jesus and they were crucified, cut in two, tortured, stoned, and exiled. Every disciple died because of his allegiance to Christ. Yet most of us won't even walk next door to meet our new neighbor.
Comfort is for people of this world, but Christians are not of this world. C.S. Lewis wrote, "It's useless looking to heaven for earthly comfort; it's not the sort of comfort they supply there." If you rely solely on pleasant circumstances and conditions, you will miss the call on your life. You will know when Christ tugs on your heart because it will take patience endurance, prayerful consideration, and unfettered faith to follow His voice. When you feel a little uncomfortable, then it is Christ.

Time to Response For Jesus Sacrifice !!!
Dear Friends,
Good Friday and Easter has brought us a very significant message to us as a congregation.
Jesus without failing Himself, fulfilled the will of God so that we can be delivered and have the gift of salvation with bonus of Eternal Life.
Now when we have the Gift and the bonus, what are we doing on our part. Everyday through our transgressions and mistakes we go against the will of God, though we say that we surrender all but many times it's not possible as human beings.
On Wednesday we met for fasting prayer to put our weaknesses in front of Lord and renew our commitment to Him asking His grace to prepare for us for a righteous life as God desires. No doubt it was a blessing time to open up and have Peace in lives.
The same message i want to share with you all. Let us not waste His sacrifice by doing things against Him. He never failed in serving us so we need to be enough strong, not to fail Jesus for what He has done for us. Renew your commitment and see what more wonders He is going to do in our lives.
Be Blessed my Friends in Christ & enjoy your Good Friday and Easter in the presence of Holy one.
